Use ChatGPT with a CRM and an up-to-date database - AI & Technology

    Connect Hice to ChatGPT

In the app or plugin flow available in your ChatGPT environment, search for Hice and start connecting it. Sign into Hice and authorize the account you intend to use. A useful first request is to show available operations and read a known record without changing anything.

If your environment allows custom connectors, Hice's MCP endpoint is https://app.hice.ai/mcp. Interface and availability depend on the product, plan and workspace rules. Current conditions are described in the ChatGPT plugins guide. Do not paste an API key into a regular conversation to establish this connection.

A conversation does not replace a database

Chat can help organize information, but a conversation alone does not create a shared system of records, relationships and permissions. Paste a candidate list and the assistant works with that copy; it does not automatically receive subsequent changes in your business software.

With Hice connected, the assistant consults accessible records through connector operations. The database remains the place for identities and relationships; chat is an interface for reading, analyzing and proposing actions. For records just saved through the extension, request a fresh read: an earlier answer does not update itself.

Prepare a client briefing with verifiable data

A useful prompt names the client, goal and sources: 'Prepare a briefing for this company using accessible Hice contacts, notes and opportunities. Separate what we know from open questions.' Specify the company or its identifier when names are similar.

Check that the report identifies the records used and does not treat an old note as a still-active request. Ask for draft next actions, then decide which become actual activities. An assistant can summarize context; it cannot establish an approved budget or client availability unsupported by any source.

    Create an opportunity from notes

Provide conversation notes and request a proposal containing company, contact, description, stage and next step. If value or deadline are unknown, ask to leave them missing. Before creating an opportunity, check whether a deal for the same request already exists.

The AI draft must become an explicit change: review relationships and confirm the proposed fields. To update an existing opportunity, identify the exact record. 'Update the client' is ambiguous when the database holds a company, a person and several opportunities for the same organization.

Read, prepare and confirm a change

Requesting a report differs from updating an opportunity. Hice's connector separates reading from preparing writes: the assistant proposes an action, shows its details, and confirmation must concern that proposal. The AI product's approval can add another check.

For a practical trial, ask to change one field on a known record and inspect its identifier, previous value and proposed value. If the request changes, prepare a new proposal. Assistant approval preferences do not remove confirmations required by the connector or broaden your user's permissions.

Free plans, desktop and mobile devices

Hice integration is included without an extra charge, including on Hice's free plan. This does not guarantee that every assistant's free plan exposes the connection or all its functions. Check your account for connector availability and provider limits. A LinkedIn subscription is not needed for standard profiles accessible free of charge.

MCP describes the connection rather than guaranteeing support in every interface. When switching from web to desktop or phone, try reading the same record and check available actions. A company API key in Hice chat is a different path with separate configuration and costs.
