Choose software around the process it must support and the exceptions your team actually encounters. A short scorecard using the same case for every publisher exposes tradeoffs as well as benefits.

A KPI measures an outcome with unit, period, source and calculation rule. A dashboard displays metrics; a report must let readers reconcile them with records. Every percentage ratio needs a stated denominator.

If dashboards disagree, compare interval, status, unit and denominator before the formula. Inspect sample included and excluded records. A saved filter or sources refreshed at different times can explain the discrepancy.
